Strengthening the Tedapaz Platform: an observatory for measuring change with a territorial perspective

About the project

This project seeks to consolidate the Tedapaz platform as a sustainable territorial observatory that produces and manages information, makes the realities of the territories visible, and influences development and peace-building decisions.

To this end, it seeks to strengthen the capacities of the different territorial actors in eight PDET municipalities in south-western Colombia (Argelia, El Tambo, El Rosario, Cumbitara, Guapi, Timbiquí, López de Micay and El Charco) in terms of analysis and monitoring of the processes of planning, implementation and evaluation of territorial public policies, through the production and management of information, and the processes of communication and advocacy.

The project is supported by Territorios de Oportunidad, a cooperation programme financed with USAID resources, and is implemented in alliance with the Institute of Intercultural Studies of the Javeriana University of Cali.

This project is developed through four strategies that are designed and implemented together with civil society organisations and other territorial actors.

  1. Information management strategy: information is produced, analysed and managed to account for the processes of development and transformation of the territories, and allows for the analysis and monitoring of public policies for territorial development and peace-building.
  2. Communication strategy: the observatory’s findings are circulated to different audiences in order to generate greater knowledge, understanding and recognition of the realities of these territories.
  3. Advocacy strategy: actions are mobilised and processes of dialogue and territorial transformation are promoted based on the analysis of quality of life on daily indicators, the review of existing territorial plans and instruments, and the priorities in the framework of the fulfilment of the Peace Agreement.
  4. Sustainability strategy: seeks to guarantee the operational functioning of the Observatory and the fulfilment of its action plan in the territory.
