Strengthening the Tedapaz Platform: an observatory for measuring change with a territorial perspective

About the project

This project seeks to consolidate the Tedapaz platform as a sustainable territorial observatory that produces and manages information, makes the realities of the territories visible, and influences development and peace-building decisions.

To this end, it seeks to strengthen the capacities of the different territorial actors in eight PDET municipalities in southwestern Colombia (Argelia, El Tambo, El Rosario, Cumbitara, Guapi, Timbiquí, López de Micay and El Charco) in terms of analysis and monitoring of the processes of planning, execution and evaluation of territorial public policies, through the production and management of information, and the processes of communication and advocacy.

The project is supported by Territorios de Oportunidad, a cooperation program financed with USAID resources, and is implemented in alliance with the Institute of Intercultural Studies of the Javeriana University of Cali.

This commitment is developed through four strategies that are designed and implemented together with civil society organizations and other territorial actors.

  1. Information management strategy: information is produced, analyzed and managed to report on the development and transformation processes in the territories, and to analyze and monitor public policies for territorial development and peace building.
  2. Communication strategy: the observatory’s findings are made visible to generate greater knowledge, understanding and recognition of the realities of these territories before different audiences of interest.
  3. Advocacy strategy: actions are mobilized and processes of dialogue and territorial transformation are promoted based on the analysis of the quality of life dimensions of daily indicators, the review of existing territorial plans and instruments, and priorities within the framework of compliance with the Peace Agreement.
  4. Sustainability strategy: seeks to guarantee the operational functioning of the Observatory and the fulfillment of its action plan in the territory.
