Within the framework of the program “Territories in Dialogue. Inclusion and Rural Well-being” program, promoted by Rimisp and the organization CEDEPAS Norte a training day to prevent cases of violence against women and people with disabilities was held for more than 70 officials from public institutions in the districts of Ignacio Escudero, Miguel Checa, La Huaca, Amotape, Tamarindo, El Arenal, Colán, Vichayal and Paita, in the region of Piura in northern Peru.

These workshops, which seek to generate proposals for action and reach concrete agreements among the participating members to reinforce the work they are developing in their respective institutions, are intended to reinforce the work of prevention and eradication of cases of violence against women and strengthen knowledge in terms of regulations and procedures for compliance with the laws that protect persons with disabilities.

The institutions summoned were the district coordination bodies for the Fight against Violence against Women, the Municipal Offices for the Attention of Persons with Disabilities, the Women’s Emergency Centers of these districts of Paita and Sullana, together with the Regional Government of Piura, OREDIS and CONADIS.

These activities are part of a cycle of monthly trainings in which mayors, representatives of municipalities, the Peruvian National Police and health centers from the nine districts are participating.
