Rodrigo Yáñez is the new Director of Rimisp’s Chile Office.

As of November 1st, Rodrigo Yáñez will assume the direction of Rimisp – Latin American Center for Rural Development’s office in Chile.

Rodrigo holds a PhD in Sociology from the School of Higher Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS), a Master in Sociology and Statistics from the EHESS and a Social Anthropologist from the University of Chile.

Dr. Yáñez has served as a principal investigator for Rimisp since 2019, first as part of the research team of the Territorios en Diálogo program program and then as its director. He is currently leading the project “Agroecological innovation and inclusive governance of agri-food systems” (IDRC-Canada, 2022-2025). During these years, he has also led consultancies for the Central Bank, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Office of Agricultural Studies and Policies (ODEPA) of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Government of Chile.

Rodrigo Yáñez has been selected through a public competition, as the candidate who best meets the research, innovation, strategic leadership and institutional commitment required to lead this stage in the development process of Oficina Chile.

Rimisp wishes him every success in his tenure as Director.
