In the city of Cali, Colombia, an intense and transforming working day was held in conjunction with the Agency for the Renewal of Territory (ART), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Multi-donor Trust Fund for Peace (MPTF).
Mayors, secretaries, local leaders and officials of the PDET municipalities of the Middle Pacific and Nariño sub-regions, Chocó Sur and Alto Patía, actively participated in this event, which combined territorial dialogue with a practical workshop on the application of the “Unlocking the Territory” guide.
During the afternoon, we worked on real cases: we identified bottlenecks in the management of territorial planning, resolved key doubts, traced viable routes and collaboratively built solutions that will unlock strategic projects in the PDET territories.
This exercise, which will be replicated in five capital cities -Cali, Bogotá, Cúcuta, Santa Marta and one more city to be confirmed- seeks to boost the implementation of the PDETs, strengthen local capacities and build collective solutions that demonstrate the power of interinstitutional coordination and the commitment of the territories to rural development and peace.
The next meeting is already scheduled for Tuesday, July 1 in Cúcuta, with the participation of PDET municipalities from Norte de Santander.
We continue to unlock the territory, together!
