Inclusive Rural Development DRI Algo Nuevo in Cauca: Systematisation of the second phase of the Programme implemented by Mercy Corps

About the project

Mercy Corps‘ DRI Algo Nuevo programme in phases I and II is a seven-year initiative (2018-2025), funded by the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, which seeks to promote licit livelihoods, expand rural property rights and invigorate the economy in rural areas of the department of Cauca. . The programme complements two of the key components of the 2016 Peace Accords, especially on issues of access to and use of land in the comprehensive rural reform and the substitution of illicit crops in the framework of the comprehensive solution to the drug problem. In this context, Rimisp developed and implemented a methodology to facilitate an exercise of identification and systematisation of lessons learned and good practices from the implementation of the first two phases of the Algo Nuevo programme, with all the organisation’s guidelines and in accordance with the specifications and technical and commercial feasibility.
