href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rfpkjihT7bM\"><b>webinar &#8220;Indigenous agro-food systems in transition&#8221;<\/b><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  to mark the closing of the initiative, which ran from 2022 to 2025. With the support of the   <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/idrc-crdi.ca\/es\">International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada<\/a>, the project aimed to support the sustainable transformation of agrifood systems in three rural territories in Latin America.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><b>During the event, results of the project were shared and the relationship between agroecology and indigenous peoples was<\/b> <b>the relationship between agroecology and indigenous peoples was discussed in depth.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Rimisp developed the project together with three local partner organizations:  <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/cesder-prodes.com\/\"><b>CESDER-PRODES<\/b><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the Sierra Norte de Puebla, Mexico (with Nahuatl communities); <\/span><b>APROBA-SANK<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Alta Verapaz, Guatemala (with Q&#8217;eqchi&#8217; Mayan communities); and <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/prosuco.org\/\"><b>PROSUCO<\/b> <\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the Municipality of Torotoro, Bolivia (with Quechua communities).<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><b>REFLECTIONS AND LESSONS LEARNED FROM THE PROJECT<\/b><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rodrigo Y\u00e1\u00f1ez, director of Rimisp in Chile, was in charge of opening the webinar highlighting that <\/span><b>one of the main learnings of the project is that indigenous knowledge and production systems are highly integrated.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Unlike the western view, these systems are not subdivided into separate dimensions, but rather production, food, culture and health are closely connected.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this context, agroecology is presented as an appropriate way to transition to more sustainable systems. The panelists were: Ignacia Serrano from CESDER-PRODES (Mexico); Ernesto T Chub from APROBA-SANK (Guatemala) and Kelly Ulcuango from Amawtay Wasi University (Ecuador). <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>second panel, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">moderated by Rafael Lindemann of Rimisp, <\/span><b>focused on the future of indigenous food systems.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The panelists imagined possible scenarios, identified challenges and opportunities, and discussed the actions needed to strengthen these systems.
